3 days Dolomites – Sciliar – Alpe di Siusi

Start from Bolzano with the bus at 9 in the direction of Siusi allo Sciliar.

From Siusi with the cable car to the Alpe di Siusi, largest pastureland in Europe.

From the Alpe we start hiking in the direction of the rifugio Bolzano.

It goes over meadows and paths to the baita Saltner.

From here the so-called path del turista starts.

700m altitude, approx. 1.5 hours to the rifugio Bolzano, the oldest and largest mountain hut in South Tyrol.

In total there are approx. 900 meters in altitude and 3.5 hours of hiking time.

After we have taken a break and occupied our rooms, we go together to summit Monte PitzĀ  and continue to enjoy the sunset over the Sciliar meadows.

The next day, after breakfast, we set off over the high plateau to the summit di terra rossa and in 2.5 hours down to the rifugio Alpe di Tieres, where we have lunch.

A very special hike, not too strenuous and to a very special hut.

After the meal we walk another 2 hours to the Sassopiatto mountain hut.

This part is also very varied with a lot of panoramic views.

This day has about 200 m up and 500 m down and 12km way.

Here, too, you can enjoy a spectacular sunset and the really fanatical can also walk to the Sassopiato summit.

After the great breakfast that is served here, we go down to the Zallinger hut and then cross over to the Mahlknecht hut, where we have lunch.

Then it’s back to the Alpe di Siusi and by cable car and bus back to Bolzano.

This day has about 200 m up, 700 m down and 13 km with 5-hour tides.

I guarantee that it is a very special tour and that every normal person can do it.

Good equipment is important.

Hiking boots, warm clothes, hat, gloves, backpack with water bottle, rain jacket, maybe hiking poles, etc.
